Snow Pictures!

So this was a challenge, but it was pretty fun too. We had a hard time scheduling this shoot with first no snow, then a blizzard on the day of the shoot, then kids getting sick, etc... but we finally got out there and I think it went pretty well. I loved taking these pictures with the red in it. :)

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge

The theme of this challenge is self portrait. This is my first entry in one of these contests. One of my goals this upcoming year is to enter more pictures in these contests and hopefully get feedback and improve on areas I need to work on. :)

I'm Thankful for my Mom and Dad

My parents finally let me take a couple pictures of them on Thanksgiving. I'm so grateful for everything they have done for me and all they have taught me. I needed pictures of family for a project I want to work on, I think these will work out great, thank you mom and dad! :)

More of the Little One - 3 Month Pictures

I did these a little while ago, but realized how hard it is to try to take pictures of a baby by yourself. She wouldn't exactly smile at me, she just stared at the big camera in front of my face and looked at me confusedly. So these aren't the best, but oh well. :)

Halloween Fun

So I have to put this one up just cuz I was honestly trying to be creative and artistic when taking this picture. I had this cute image in my mind. It was just too bad she didn't like my idea. :)

Blessing Pictures

So you'll have to forgive me, all these are of my baby. But I have to say, it's so nice to have a model I can practice on whenever I want. :) My sister in law helped me with the lighting and white balance and gave me ideas for angles and she was also a big help getting my baby to smile! :) We posted our favorites on our family blog, so these are just a couple others I liked.

My Baby Girl's Soon To Be Friend

My friend let me practice taking some pictures of her baby girl, who is sooo cute! It was a lot of fun taking these ones. She's a little old for the newborn poses, but still too young to really sit up or anything. She could barely lift her head long enough and I think we got her mad at us for making her try. But it was still fun and it makes me so excited to be taking pictures of my own little girl soon! Thanks Katie! :) I know I posted a lot, but I loved all these...

A Little Photo Action

So I realize one of the reasons I have this camera is cuz my husband loves his football pictures. :) This camera is so much better than our old one for the fact that when it gets a little dim outside it doesn't automatically stop working for me, I can zoom in nice and close to Scott with the telephoto lens he got me, it has a faster shutter speed to catch the action, and it's basically just much better than our little point and shoot. These are some of my favorites. :)

Trying out a Little Bokeh

Personally I love taking pictures of people more than of objects, but I had fun trying to take pictures of my blanket and our blog book, trying to make them look good. I was trying to work on the whole bokeh (I think that's what it's called) affect where you have a part in focus, but the background is all blurry.

Learning To Work With Kids

I'm so grateful to have close family who will let me practice on them! My nieces are adorable and I love them both so much, but I definitely learned I need to be quick with the camera to catch the pose and smile that I worked to get in the first place! They were on the go the whole time! :)
